Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro impresses in review

Xiaomi’s Smart Band 10 Pro offers a bright, sharp display and precise sensors in a lightweight aluminum frame but does not function as a full smartwatch.

A display that stands out

The 1.74-inch AMOLED screen is the most noticeable feature. It reaches up to 2,000 nits, making it readable in direct sunlight. The 480×336 resolution ensures text and icons remain clear, and the always-on mode can be set to stay lit continuously or on a timer.

Thin bezels frame the responsive touchscreen. Navigation relies entirely on swipes since there are no physical buttons. The vibration motor is subtle, which may make it easy to miss in loud settings.

Health tracking with solid performance

The device tracks heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, and sleep stages. During testing, heart rate readings delivered reliable measurements. Sleep tracking records time spent in light, deep, and REM stages, along with respiratory rate and efficiency. A smart alarm attempts to wake users during light sleep, though its 10-minute window is restrictive.

The band sometimes prompts users to stand up immediately after they already have, indicating inconsistent detection.

Fitness features go beyond basics

The band supports over 150 sports, including running and swimming. It automatically detects activities like cycling and running, setting goals for duration, distance, or calories.

Dual-band GNSS connects quickly to GPS, Glonass, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS. Accuracy varies, with some plotted paths deviating from the actual route.

Limitations prevent smartwatch classification

The Smart Band 10 Pro lacks an app store, restricting users to Xiaomi Pay and preloaded watch faces. NFC is included, but payment support is limited to select banks in Germany. Without a speaker, calls must be answered on a phone, and notifications cannot be replied to—not even with quick responses.

Setup is simple via the Mi Fitness app, available for iOS and Android. The app organizes data into four tabs: Health, Workout, Device, and Profile. Third-party integrations like Strava and Suunto are supported, but the absence of an app ecosystem means no Spotify controls or voice assistants.

Battery life does not meet Xiaomi’s 21-day claim. With the always-on display, advanced sleep tracking, and automatic workout detection enabled, the 350 mAh battery lasts about a week. Charging is fast—10% to 48% in 30 minutes—but the proprietary magnetic connector is another accessory to manage.

This device occupies an uncertain space. It outperforms basic fitness trackers but lacks the functionality of a full watch. The €80 price is fair for the display and sensors, though missing features like reply options, an app store, and broader payment support may disappoint those expecting more.

Runners and cyclists will appreciate the built-in GNSS and workout modes. For others, the bright screen and accurate tracking may not justify the compromises. A simpler band suffices for step counts and sleep data, while a smartwatch better suits those wanting apps and replies.

The band is available in black, silver, and pink, with a Ceramic Edition in white for €100. NFC availability depends on the retailer, so verification is recommended before purchase. Wristbands are interchangeable via a proprietary connector, and the case combines aluminum, glass, and plastic.

Xiaomi has not disclosed the chipset or memory specifications, but performance remains smooth in daily use. Storage is not a concern since only watch faces are saved on the device.

The packaging is mostly plastic-free, and the bands are replaceable, though the proprietary connector restricts third-party options.
